Holdings include manuscripts, scrapbooks, videotapes, tape recordings, and correspondence of Jean Thomas, Kentucky folklorist and author; clippings, programs, and photographs from the years Robert Whitney and Jorge Mester served as conductors of the Louisville Orchestra; and photographs and programs reflecting Hattie Bishop Speed's musical career. Scores, compositions, a typescript, and correspondence that originated with Claude Marion Almand, a former professor at the School of Music, are present as are compositions, correspondence, and edited works of Isidore Edmond Philipp, a pianist and composer. Other materials include blueprints of the School of Music building on the Belknap Campus, and a sheet music collection with many Louisville imprints.
